Activities of Natural Resources Conservation Service

Jeremy Ansel – NRCS Announced Brook Hamil hired as Intern in Sarasota Office. Israel requested CR/EO be placed on next agenda. To be added to August Agenda

Activities of Southwest Florida Water Management District –Patricia Robertshaw – Powerpoint presentation on FARMS Program (Facilitating Agriculture Resource Systems) focused on reducing ground water demands

Activities of Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services –Patricia Hobson P.W.S.  Environmental Specialist III Office of Agricultural Water Policy  Highlighted Mini FARM program >$15K grants for > 100 acre farms This is a reimbursement program for tangible items only.

Activities of Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences

 Ralph Mitchell Extension Director 2017-18 budget cut $6 Million – affects 4H curriculum and activities. A Caladium education class will be held on July 24 & 25

Activities of the South Florida Water Management Ditrict-Steven Sentes SFWMD – Absents

New Business

Motion made; seconded and passed authorizing Supervisor Lang be reimbursed for Hotel Expenses and mileage to attend statewide AFCD meeting in Ocala on July 21, 2017.

Supervisor’s Reports

Supervisor Lang reported that website CharlotteSoilandWater.us is in compliance with statewide directives.
